Repatriation
In case repatriation is decided on, SOS AERZTE will accompany the patient in an ambulance, aircraft or in the company ambulance aircraft.
A close working relationship with the doctors carrying out the treatment on the spot will assure a smooth handover to a medical institution at home. Before every transport, risks are being considered carefully, only then SOS AERZTE will decide on taking action.
The bed-to-bed monitoring or a handover of the patient from one doctor to another permit continual care and supervision during the journey.
In case of repatriation by ambulance aircraft, doctors with special skills in flight medicine will be on duty. Transports are further escorted by paramedical staff (accredited first-aiders). If requested, specialists such as internists, psychiatrists, specialists in emergency medicine or anaesthetists may accompany the transport.
